Information

The National Center for High-Performance Computing Certificate Authority is located in Taiwan and has been running since 2008.

The Certificate Authority operated by the Grid Technology Group of NCHC (NCHC CA) serves a PKI architecture which issues public key certificates (X.509) for end entities those include users, hosts, and services.

  • User certificates can be used to authenticate a person to relying sites that have agreed to accept certificates from NCHC CA. It is expected that these sites will be collaborating with NCHC.

  • Server certificates can be used to identify a named service on a specific host and an LDAP server and for encryption of communication (TLS/SSL). These certificates may be used to authenticate the servers to another Grid entity.
